Stealing the Crown Jewels

At the BT Paralympic World Cup held in May at Manchester, England our Paralympians did us all proud.
In the swimming pool: Kevin Paul took gold for the 100m in 1:08.29 and added a new world record to a growing list. Tadhg Slattery took a Bronze Medal home to add to his already impressive collection and Sarah Shannon swam backwards to her finish in 1:20.72. Beijing superstar, Natalie du Toit, swam away from her competition bringing home even more gold .
Out on the athletics field David Roos (F46) took Bronze in the F44/46 - High Jump with a height of  1.83m.
Oscar Pistorius took Gold in ManchesterOscar Pistorius took two gold medals at the Cup, conquering the crowds and setting a new Commonwealth Record in the 400m of 50.28. This was on top of his previous win in the 100m in a time of 11.13.
Oscar fell short in his bid to qualify for next month’s IAAF World Track and Field Championships (Berlin) at the  second Golden League meeting of the year, the Bislett Games in  Oslo, Norway.
In order to qualify for the 400 metres he needed to run a time of 45.55sec but it seems the injuries he sustained in the boating accident in february this year are slowing him down and he only  clocked 47.18s, finishing second.
