Muzikayise (Muzi) Pooe sings with passion. Born without arms or legs, he saw the challenge that life presented him as an obstacle to triumph over. Realising that it was about how he perceived his own situation, Muzi changed the course of his life. Music became a way for Muzi to deal with his disability, find comfort and purpose. Thus began his career as a musician.

Muzi focuses on a range of music genres including gospel, soul, pop and house. This Joburg-based artist has been performing since 2000 with several broadcasted and noteworthy performances.

The most memorable performance for him was when he was able to perform on stage and meet motivational speaker, Nick Vujicic – who was also born without arms or legs. Of his meeting with Nick, Muzi notes: “I was happy to meet him. It was the best moment ever. He is just like a twin brother to me and I would like to thank him.”

Muzi has not allowed his disability to stop him from achieving his dreams and he hopes others will gather strength from him to tap into their own worth and potential.

He would also like to thank his family for their love and support. He says: “They are always there for me, all the time. I love you guys with all my heart and thank you for everything.”
