The CEO Wheelchair Campaign invites leaders to spend a full workday in a wheelchair, navigating offices, meetings and routines from a completely new perspective. The aim is to raise awareness around the obstacles that wheelchair users face, while securing funds for the Little Eden Society that cares for 300 adults and children with disabilities.

For a wheelchair user, simple daily tasks, such as travelling down a corridor, using a lift or navigating a parking lot, are full of challenges. Now, South African CEOs and business leaders have the chance to experience it firsthand to make a difference.

The campaign launches on Friday, 27 February, with an event at Eastgate Mall from 9h00 to 14h00 supported by MasterDrive, professional racer Guy Davis, Mont Blanc Financial services and Eastgate Mall. The launch will feature interactive demonstrations, media coverage, networking opportunities, and will culminate in a fun, competitive wheelchair race after the opening speeches.

To participate, companies need to:

  • Select a day in March to send in a wheelchair;
  • Make a donation to Little Eden;
  • Nominate a fellow leader to participate; and
  • Share your experience.

When donating R55 000, participants will be entered into a raffle to win one of 20 Defensive Driving Courses offered by MasterDrive.
