Music festival showcases talent of artists with disabilities

The Pinky First Lady and Friends Music Festival will be taking place on Saturday, 3 August, at the KZN Music House in Greyville, Durban. Hosted by Pinky Khotsholo and her organisation Drumroll, the event aims to provide artists with a platform to showcase their talents.

“I was inspired to start Drumroll because I wanted artist with disabilities to be given a platform where they can perform and get paid for their craft. Even the community will get to go out, have fun, socialise, enjoy good food and music,” Pinky notes about her organisation and the motivation behind the festival.

The event will show case several artists including musicians, poets and dancers. Pinky adds: “It is my dream for this music festival to happen every year; to get more funders, more promoters, more recognition so that the event will grow. If the event is grows, it means more jobs for artists.”
