This group convened for the first time on March 10, at the Disability Summit in Pretoria.
Forty selected representatives of disability – many of whom are people with disabilities – engaged with president Jacob Zuma, who chaired the meeting.
One issue discussed was the location of “disability” in the department of social development. This issue will be debated and decided by the next meeting of the working group.
