The 2025 South African National Para Surfing Championship returns to Durban from 11 to 13 April. Hosted by Made for More at the Durban Beachfront, the championship will see para surfers from across the country gather to showcase their skills.

One participate of the event is Sue Martin who has always dreamed of representing her country in sport and hopes to make the national team.

“Having come from an athletic background, the prospect of representing my country in a sporting event has always been a distant dream. Now, I have the chance to compete with the aim of achieving this honour. It still feels surreal,” she says.

The top surfers will join the national team and get the opportunity to compete in the World Para Surfing Championship, usually held at the end of the year in the United States.

We wish all the participants, including Sue, all the best with the competition!
