With the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions, many events were cancelled. The Wings for Life Foundation was not unaffected. Each year, the Foundation hosts its Wings for Life Run in Pretoria. However, when South Africa headed into its lockdown, the in-person event was cancelled. As the pandemic remains a very real concerns for South Africans, the in-person event hasn’t returned.

Fortunately, even pre-coronavirus, the Wings for Life Foundation encouraged everyone from across the globe to participate. If you weren’t able to attend the in-person event, you could join via the virtual run.

So, if you would like to still support the Foundation, you simply need to download the Wings for Life app, register and run on Sunday, May 9. Every cent made through registrations and donations for the event will be used to fund researchers who are trying to cure spinal cord injuries.

When downloading the app, you can participate either alone in your area, with friends or an organised app run. You will still be running against the Catcher Car. When it “passes” you, you will have finished the race.
