The 2020 Casual Day will return on the international day for people with disabilities, 3 December 2020. Originally held in September, the Casual Day is the flagship awareness and fundraising project for the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD). Proceeds from the R20 Casual Day stickers go towards supporting people with disabilities.
This year, the theme is “Side by Side for Equality”. Commenting on its theme, the organisation notes:
“Side by side for equality, persons with disabilities can achieve full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and freedoms. Side by side for equality, we can multiply each other’s efforts and transform South Africa into a truly inclusive and equal society!”
The event will run alongside Disney’s Mickey and Friends #StayTrue campaign. Participants are encouraged to embrace polka dots and channel their inner Mickey or Minnie Mouse on 3 December.
You can find more information about the theme and partnership between Casual Day and Disney’s Micky and Friends here.
There is also various Casual Day merchandise available for those who would like to support the cause further. This includes personalised stickers, golf shirts, face masks, hats, and more. For the full catalogue, click here.
