Eric Miles Cheshire Home (EMCH) resident Jeff Kao will be participating in the Cape Town Cycle Tour thanks to Cheshire Home South Africa CEO Etienne Schlechter and a team of cyclists who will be pulling Jeff in an adapted buggy. The Cape Town Cycle Tour is a 109-kilometre route around the peninsula, which will take place on 8 March.
EMCH is celebrating its 50th anniversary. By competing in the tour, the Home aims to advance the visibility and inclusion of people with physical disabilities as active participants in society, not observers. Additionally, all funds raised through the event will support the ongoing work of the Home.
“This is definitely a first for me and I cannot wait to see the peninsula from the vantage point of a cyclist,” Jeff shares his excitement. A team of nine cyclists will complete the full route while pulling Jeff in a specially adapted buggy. All of this is made possible through the generous support of William Simpson Omoda Jaecoo Tokai, which includes the buggy, rider apparel and campaign visibility.
If you are in the Cape Town area on 8 March, be sure to show your support to Jeff, EMCH and the cyclist participating in the Cape Town Cycle Tour!
