Three of the major airports in South Africa have made accommodations for wheelchair users to park at a discounted rate. Cape Town International Airport, King Shaka International Airport, and OR Tambo International Airport has made accommodations for people with disabilities.
To make use of the service, you need to completed the airport parking concession available from the QASA website and inform the airport in advance. Each airport has its own process.
Cape Town International Airport
ACSA have provided a parking concession in Parkade 2 “drop-and-go” area for wheelchair users whereby you can park your vehicle in wheelchair designated parking and pay the rate applied for P4 parking (a reduced rate).
This area is also the closest parking to the airport building and undercover all the way from the parking into the airport.
In order to announce your intention to use this parking, send an e-mail to Dewald Breytenbach on DewaldB@servest.co.za or QuintonW@servest.co.za or MeneB@servest.co.za at least 48 hours before the time with your details and the parking customer service desk will be informed accordingly.
When returning to your vehicle, go to the pay point machine and press the “help” button. Announce yourself and inform them that you are a wheelchair user. They will instruct you further on how to proceed with the payment process to receive the reduced rate.
King Shaka International Airport
ACSA have provided a parking concession in the Multi-Story Parking (MSP) area for wheelchair users whereby you can park your vehicle in wheelchair designated parking and pay the rate applied for shaded parking (a reduced rate).
A verification document must be submitted to the cashier. The form can be acquired from Louise Rode at QASA on secretary@qasa.co.za or via the QASA website here.

O.R. Tambo International Airport
ACSA has provided a parking concession in Parkade 2 South (Level 2) “central pick-up and drop-off” area for wheelchair users whereby you can park your vehicle in a wheelchair designated parking and pay the rate applied for long stay and or Parkade 2 North depending on the number of days parked (this is a reduced rate).
This area is also the closest parking to the airport building and undercover all the way from the parking into the airport.
Users must send an e-mail notification with your information and parking dates at least 72 hours prior to departure to the client liaison officers: Pretty.Radebe@airports.co.za and/or Lebohang.Thekiso@airports.co.za. The Parking Management Office, located at Parkade 2 South Level 1, will be informed accordingly.
When returning to the vehicle, the user must proceed to the Parking Management Office with the original ticket and the confirmation e-mail. They will be instructed further on to how to proceed with the payment process to receive the reduced rate.
