The first ever Miss Wheelchair South Africa competition will be hosted at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town on 2 December 2021. The live event will also be streamed on social media and to the Africa Travel, Tourism and Disability Expo and Awards taking place in Zimbabwe.
The crowning of the next Miss Wheelchair South Africa is crafted with the aim to change the perception, narrative, and image of women with disabilities in South Africa. The workshop and competition aim to enable an awareness to the theme, “Beauty without Barriers”, and start the journey for the newly crowned Miss Wheelchair South Africa to represent South Africa at Miss Wheelchair World in Mexico in October 2022.
Lebohang Monyatsi crowned first princess at Miss Wheelchair World will be among the judges. The broader awareness campaign focuses on developing and profiling South Africa as a universal accessible destination.
UAHUB, the organisers of the event, is sponsored by the Artscape Theatre. The organisation is calling on businesses and organisations to be part of the prestigious event. With the assistance and partnership of the sponsors, UAHUB will enable and empower the lives of people with disabilities in Africa and Globally.
