Before coming a life coach, Len Davey went through the programme, which changed his life
Recently, I was asked why I became a life coach and the value it has brought to my life? Wow! What a question. Where to begin? Maybe at the beginning!
During my professional life as a business owner, I received a lot of satisfaction from motivational sessions and helping my staff. They came to me for all sorts of issues. I guess it’s the beard, he, he!
Whenever I attended a talk on motivation, I was so envious, and thought, “I’d love to do that one day”. I vowed I’d never do it unless I was properly trained. Plus my experience of 40 years in a chair, and my business acumen… just maybe.
During a sales motivational sessions, one of my salesmen chipped in with something profound that he learned from his life coach, he had my attention. I questioned him like an FBI agent … who, where, what, how and how much, etc. The company responsible for his miraculous attitude change was New Insights Life Coach Training and I was hooked.
When I retired, I decided to look for the best training company I could find, and guess what? … New Insights shone bright! I contacted them and the rest is history.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my coach Jenni Burridge (thank you, Jenni). She was so kind yet firm, understanding, and so knowledgeable that on many occasions I had tears running down my face (I wasn’t crying hey!) as we explored places in my life that I didn’t know existed.
From wanting to become a life coach, my life changed so much that my wife said one day: “Even if you never coach one person, this course has paid for itself over and over again.”
I’ll expand more in the next article on what life coaching has offered me. Readers are encouraged to take the first session for free to see for themselves what life coaching can offer.
