Have you booked the “wheelchair friendly” room at a hotel only to find it is everything but accessible? Well, the days of accessibility surprises may soon be over.

Access Assured is working to independently grade and certify accommodation in South Africa. The goal is to ensure you know exactly what you are booking.

There are three grade. Grade A booking is universally accessible, which would allow travellers complete independence. Grade B is mostly accessible, which means that some assistance might be required depending on ability. Grade C is somewhat accessible, which means that assistance is likely depending on your ability.

This grading system allows you to know what you are booking, what assistance you may require and take all the precautions so that you can enjoy your holiday and your stay.

But Access Assured needs your help! They are calling on travellers to create a free profile, which will keep you informed on the new businesses listed and graded, but will also show businesses the interest and value of getting their accommodation rated.
