The Department of Transport is conducting a survey on the accessibility of transport systems for people with disabilities. It aims to accurately capture the concerns and challenges faced.

The survey enquires about the modes of transport that can be accessed as well as the “first mile” (travelling from the home to public transport) and “last mile” (travelling from the public transport back home). Once the first portion of the survey is complete, there is the opportunity to complete a longer survey by the department.

Anyone, regardless of age or disability, can complete the survey, although it is not recommended that you respond on behalf of an organisation.

Rather, complete the survey as an individual to give your personal experience. Parents or guardians of children with disabilities are encouraged to also complete the survey. Caregivers of adults with disabilities can assist the person to complete the survey.

The travel survey can be accessed on the Department of Transport website, or by clicking here.
